Beneath The Veil

Beneath the Veil…

Wearing the scars of your brutality,

Through hands that shake,

I turn the mirror around.

My Wedding Day

And yet no smiles have I

For fear of cracking the mask that hides your sin.

Paints and powders brushed across my pain

Are dulled reminders of your merciless presence.
